CopyTrans HEIC codec is a simple Windows plugin that allows you to open HEIC and HEIF files using the native Windows Photo Viewer and Windows Explorer. You don’t need any additional software to browse your photos, like a third-party HEIC viewer. Explore HEIC files with thumbnails using Windows Explorer. View HEIC images using the native Windows Picture viewer (double click HEIC file). View HEIC EXIF metadata (right click on HEIC file -> properties->details). Use HEIC images directly in Microsoft Office (import image). Convert HEIC to JPEG (right click on HEIC file -> 'Convert to JPEG'). HEIC/HEIF is a new image format that takes up half the space of JPEGs without sacrificing a pixel of image quality. Windows PCs doesn't natively support HEIC photos – the default Windows Photo Viewer couldn’t open the new formats. CopyTrans HEIC codec will run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7 on either a 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems.
